We are looking for a full-time and highly-motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the Nuclear Envelopathies Research Group of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics (CING).

The position is for a period of 1 year.

The Nuclear Envelopathies Group is a new research group engaged in fundamental and translational research aimed at understanding how defects in the nuclear envelope contribute to human disease.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will work on the project Mech-NUC (Nuclear mechanotransduction) funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation.  The Mech-NUC project investigates how mechanical forces are sensed and transmitted at the level of the nucleus, and how defects in nuclear lamina components impair mechanotransduction in laminopathies.

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

•    A PhD degree in any Biological Science, Chemistry or closely related field.
•    Strong command of the Greek and English languages
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•    Grant writing skills

The following will be considered as advantages:

Experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanobiology/bioengineering, chromatin organization, including ChIP-sequencing approaches and gene expression analysis.
