We are looking for a Laboratory Scientific Officer to join the Department of Blood Disorder Genetics & Thalassemia of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will contribute to the Department’s diagnostic activities, including the implementation and maintenance of quality management procedures, molecular genetic analyses for blood disorders, including hemoglobinopathies, as well as development of bespoke preimplantation genetic testing for monogenic disorders (PGT-M).
In addition, the postholder will actively contribute to the advancement of the Department’s research and diagnostic initiatives and promote the department/group and the CING internally and externally through proactivity, diligence, participation in conferences and outreach activities, a commitment to projecting our values, and a positive attitude in all interactions.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
• BA/BSc or equivalent degree in any Biological Science, Chemistry or related field.
• Excellent command of the Greek and English languages
• Knowledge of laboratory operations and standard procedures
Prior experience in blood disorder diagnostics and PGT-M will be considered an advantage.
