Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences at University of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus invites applicants for an instructor/lecturer position with PhD. or equivalent terminal degree in the field of Aviation Management, Aviation Sciences or relevant discipline from an accredited program.
Job Description
The department of the Aviation Management in the faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences has the full-time vacancy “academic staff in the field of Aviation Management/Aviation Sciences”. You will contribute to the Faculty’s three core tasks: education (50%), research (30%) and servives (20%). Your role also includes organizational and managerial aspects. You will provide high-quality education in the areas of aviation management. Your teaching role will evolve along with the study programmes. The courses you teach, are part of aviation management cirriculum, spread over the Bachelor and Master of Aviation Management. If you are not holding a degree in aviation management, you should have experiance in aviation. You will also supervise students in their dissertations. You will acquire and manage national and international research fundings. You will publish in international journals and specialised litrature. You will play a role in the provision of both academic servises and services to society, within the institution and externally. You will participate in student recruitment, committees, popular science communication etc. You must hold a PhD in aviation management/aviation science/business management. If you do not speak Turkish, the administrative language of the University, you should be willing to obtain a proficiency level in Turkish. For the teaching program you should be able to demonstrate level of proficiency in the language of instruction. You are expected to act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
Requirements
All applicants must provide proof of their PhD (or equivalent specialist degree) and a high level of English, both verbal and written. Non-native English speakers should have a valid TOEFL exam result (YDS minimum 80, TOEFL IBT minimum 70, TOEFL PBT minimum 550) or equivalent, as posted in The Turkish Higher Education Body Policies, unless they have completed their higher education in an English-speaking country. All communication regarding this position, written and verbal, including interviews will be in English.
